Osram already generated around 43% of its revenue with high-efficient SSL products in fiscal 2015. The Munich-based lighting company plans to massively invest into new sustainable technologies, applications and products until 2020. As part of this plan, Osram will increase its R&D spending and will also build a new LED chip plant in Malaysia which will help to reach the goal of the Global Lighting Challenge to deploy 10 billion high-efficiency, high-quality, and affordable advanced lamps and lighting systems.
